Wang Yu-Chen|Artist Talk

From the East England Wetlands to the Outlet of Hualien River: Wang Yu-Chen's Cross-Cultural and Cross-Disciplinary Art Practice

December is the eel fry catching  season in Hualien. Fishermen will stand in the tide at the estuary every night and use triangulated nets to catch eel fry from the Kuroshio current. The mysterious eel ecology connects the eel industry of how fishermen served from the production site to the dinner table. Wang Yu-Chen will share her experience in field surveys and actions of British ecologist eel conservation, as well as related historical files, folk stories, etc., and then we will go to the estuary of Hualien River to witness the scene of catching eel fry.
