Rikey Tenn will share his practice in Nusantara Archive Project. At the same time, he will use the image of "Southward Expansion to Taiwan" to explain the Southern Expansion Doctrine during the Japanese rule as the "pre-text" for the sharing session. He intends to connect astrology, spatial projection, regional history, geopolitics, colonial archives, and even archival image reproduction from multiple perspectives through the "AstroCartoGraphy" (ACG). These terms are not objective methodology or epistemology about "Southeast Asia", but with different knowledge systems, the lecturer hopes to discuss and respond to the question of "Why does Taiwan develop Southbound exchanges" with the audience more openly.

No Man’s Land (NML) Residency and Nusantara Archive Project (May, 2017 ~ Apr, 2018) is based on three approaches: Artist Residency, Cultural Translation, and Collective-Production. NML will invite artists from Malay/ Indonesia Archipelago to Taiwan, for discussion to build up the Nusantara archive as the alternative framework for the art exchange practices between Taiwan and Southeast Asia. This open-to-all database is provided for the bilateral/ multilateral understandings among the art and culture exchange practices among these places, initiating the Nusantara genealogy as the reference point (instead of state-nation) to avoid the narrowness of nationalist ideology. For the first stage, we will invite artists to Taiwan and write their proposal for the future project to present at Meeting NML.
